Early Education

What do you want to be when you grow up?

The II-VI Foundation Early Education Programs are designed to target students in the 5th through 12th grades.  It is during these years that many favorable impressions are made and career alternatives come into consideration.  To make a coherent and intriguing case for the sciences, mathematics and engineering careers would mean that our nation will be more likely to produce a larger number of students pursuing these disciplines.

2018 II-VI FOUNDATION EARLY EDUCATION EVENTS

SUMMER SCIENCE SPLASH CAMPS

Students entering grades 7, 8 or 9 in 2018 spend a week on-site at the hosting college. Summer Science Splash Camp students participate in activities designed by a collaboration of college professors and local teachers to reinforce the career aspirations of students in the sciences, strengthen attitudes toward science and scientists, and improve understanding of scientific concepts.

Thanks to a generous gift made by the II-VI Foundation, students may attend Summer Science Splash Camp at reduced cost.
